Past Puenta de la Reina

Bridge from the Middle Ages

Queens long ago cared if the pilgrims got to their destinations. They even built bridges to help them get to Santiago. How lovely is the shape of this one with its elegant arches.I walked with two kind companions today. Sometimes it was easy walking through fields under sunny skies. However, the inevitable hills and stony tracks kept us on our toes ( sorry). The little hill towns with their steep streets pose the ultimate test at the end of a long day of walking. The great luxuries of space and silence are almost always with us.

The sun came out!
