The garden is a living metaphor. Opening up to sun and air can reveal hidden treasures. The living things I love need light and air. Sometimes it can be hard work to provide these. Left to itself the garden soon becomes overgrown, dark and full of slugs, mosquitoes, angry cats who have their own idea of fertilizer! Not such a bad idea to get in there and clean up. It means sweating, killing things, being ruthless of some and caring of others. It means spraying myself with bug repellant that other more prudent friends press into my careless hands. It means making a mess and cleaning it up. The garden makes me do what I can to keep things alive and beautiful. A living metaphor for bigger tasks.
Clean up now!
