This Camino is very different from the Camino Frances. There are way less people and beautiful stretches of nature with Natty a village in sight.

Or blazing rose bushes or neat rows of young veggies popping up. Sounds like village life you say.., but the houses are spread out and passers/by few and far between.

At last a sizeable town and a very pretty and clean one surrounded by mountains. The kids were out for a visit to the very good geology and pre-history museum. There was a very effective and touching story derived from the bones of a prehistoric woman who fell into a sink-hole with her two cattle. Her bones were found about thirty years ago and all sorts of conjecture about the colour of her eyes, skin and hair has been made through dna testing.

They named her Elba which means “ of the mountains”. The museum was full of examples of the metals, minerals and fossils found in the area. We tried to go to the ethnographic museum too but a notice on the door says it is only open one hour a day! We missed the hour.

Scary! There were hyenas and a sort of wired cat up here too.
Today was a rest day. Tomorrow a tough one 23 km up and down hills but spectacular views! Love you all
