Of the alberge. It is named after a saint I had never learned about-San Nicolas de Flu in Switzerland. It seems a lady in Ponferrada was married to a Swiss and when he died she had the Alberge built next to the church in his honour.
Perhaps it is apt that under a rather severe portrait of the saint there is a bank machine to pay your “ donation” .., he is Swiss after all.
In honour of the anniversary we had a Mass and a small reception afterwards

was having conniptions but it all turned out very well. We had already enjoyed a sumptuous lunch of paella … who knew there was take-out paella?

Today is beautiful – sunny and short-sleeve weather today

The huge preoccupation around here seems to be eating. Far from a penetential lent we seem to be shopping and eating at a tremendous rate!
It’s a cultural thing! Hugs to all
