Writing under a Montreal sky

Here comes the tricky part

When I see Balkan or Greek or Russian dancers all dressed up and the orchestra banging it out I don’t think much about how they learned the steps. I don’t think about practice sessions but here I got invited to see what goes on in the dancing class. My niece goes twice a week and so do plenty of women of all ages and a sprinkling of men,

A little skip.. built in

Easy stuff

He was a very good teacher. He made them do the steps as he counted before he put on the music. Building muscle memory I guess.

It went on non-stop for an hour and nobody cared if I watched or filmed. I’ll think about this when I see a show with the dancers all dressed up with silver coins dripping off them and headscarves tied a certain way.

What fun, except I don’t know how you resisted the dancing yourself. So happy you went and your niece is taking care of you, or perhaps the other way around, haha

Oh she is very kind and includes me in so many things. Her idea of relaxing is driving around some mountain roads with hairpin bends so I get to tag along!
