Writing under a Montreal sky

Someone else loves
my willow tree

When I pass this willow tree on my walk around the water in the park, I always “lay hands”on it. Someone else paid homage yesterday.

And here was a patient fellow

quite content to wait to be photographed. A little boy was collecting snails nearby. He was pleased to have a look. He informed me, as, after a few moments the snake slithered off under a rock, that , “She’s going to see her baby”. So much for my assumption that we had been keeping company with “ a fellow”!

Perfect picture of the snake. I can’t write. Téa is very nervous with the thunder storms and is demanding attention. Bon voyage, mon amie. À bientôt. ❤️

    Happy July 1 Isobel.

Loved your reflections on the tree and the little’ fellow’. My daughter has one of the latter in her side garden. As for the tree, I am reminded of a solo trip I made around the perimeter of Mt. Rainier in Washington State many years ago. I saw a sign to an off-road clump of 1,000 year old trees. There was no one else about when I found them so I sat down with my back against one of these ancients and tried to imagine the parade of history going back to its days as a sapling. No doubt it was already 500 years old when Columbus sailed the ocean blue! I consider my acquaintance with that tree an out-of-body and out-of-time experience.

BTW. Have a great time in NY.
