It comes in a chocolate little glass which you eat after! What could be better? He was the guide on the walking tour. Loved it If both hooves of the horse are up ( rearing) he died in battle. If the right one is up he died of wounds after the battle. If the left…

People are still walking around with winter coats and scarves and then some runner zooms by in shorts. It’s sunny and 25 degrees. I’m staying in a hostel which means I have impeccable sheets and huge pillows and towels! ( unheard of on the Camino!) Off for a walking tour of the city tomorrow and…

After feeding birds by hand and swooning over trees setting out buds! Heee’s back! Old Man Winter is not letting go! Ah, well better dig…

Yes, it’s a Canadian thing and writing about nature in Canada means ….writing about the weather. The other things that have been preoccupying me are the dizzying statements and denials…

Up on the fourth floor of the building next to me. There are gusts of 60 km per hour right now and a temperature of -15 so my weather page says it “ feels like” -23. I am in awe of this man The snow isn’t even that deep up there. Buddy is just throwing…

We’ve had a lot of snow and more is to come tonight. People are cross because their cars are stuck in the snowbank, in garages, in parking lots. I don’t have a car and so the only think I have to worry about is walking around on poorly cleared sidewalks or marching down the middle…

Not a bird to be seen! On my way to the Metro as I walk gingerly over packed snow and ice, it’s marvellous to see the clear sky. It’s what my mother would call “ a real Québec winter” with plenty of cold, a decent few snowfalls and the stream under the little bridge. I’ve…
