Why are you still Green?

In the park

near my home, a mystery. While autumn is well underway with its special beauty

The clouds, the still lake,

One tree among all the others pretends it is summer

Others cling to last brilliant leaves

But one stalwart clings, instead, to the color of life. It looks like an ordinary maple but there is something extraordinary about it.

If anyone knows the secret to this mystery,

    Funny you should mention that green stalwart tree! I have seen trees like that and also wonder! The mystery I think is that rules are meant to be broken! The tree can’t continue wearing white shoes after Labor Day, but can hang on to its leaves, and it’s big enough and strong enough to do that! Go tree go!
