Yes, right here in Montreal, on Sherbrooke street is a beautiful church with unique stained glass windows. You’ll notice the name Redpath under the detail that caught my eye. yes, the sugar mogul of 19 th century Montreal has his place here. The church is part of the history of Anglo Montreal and is a beautiful example of how our history can be preserved and appreciated.
My eye was caught not by the famous name, but rather by the detail under the sandals of the figure depicted. The stone texture, the delicate grass fronds and the wild flowers are a part of stained glass that we sometimes overlook.
The panels in the lower part of the church are very much to my taste in motif and technique. The windows in the upper part are spectacular and more modern. They were designed by Lawrence Lee, a renowned artist who worked on windows for the new cathedral in Coventry, England.
When I travel in Europe, I love to visit the great cathedrals and spend time admiring the stained glass

Sometimes we forget that our own town has beautiful and meaningful treasures for us to enjoy. The church of St Andrew and St Paul has a beautiful garden too at the side of the building. Located on Sherbrooke streets at the corner of Redpath, it is well worth a visit. Mr Don R Kelly greeted me and answered my many questions. The website is http://www.standrewstpaul.com Check it out. It’s a gem!
