Just a feeling but I think the Muslim feast celebrated today had something to do with the huge number of people in my local and beloved park.

This party looked really special. People were dressed in national costume and to my inexperienced eye it looked like it might even be a wedding.

People brought tents, tennis nets, soccer balls, badminton sets. A good time was had by all.

he could have privacy, if not peace and quiet, in the tent.

This park is always full of families on Sunday but today seemed very festive. There was a lot more music being played. As I was heading home a group of four gentlemen dressed on impeccable national costume crossed my path. They were carrying elaborately wrapped gifts and I almost turned around to see who the lucky recipients would be. I was rather shy to do so, however and the moment passed.

It’s great to see people out and enjoying themselves. Our summer is precious so we have to take advantage of it. I wish all those celebrating Eid Mubarak and happy summer to the rest of us.
